PIONEER PARK

Public BBQ

Nestled in the heart of Comboyne's mountain country, Pioneer Park delivers the perfect antidote to the town's weekend takeaway drought. This spacious family haven boasts gleaming new BBQ facilities that practically beg you to pack provisions from the local shops and settle in for a proper feast. The kids' playground is genuinely impressive for such a small mountain town, and the toilets are refreshingly well-maintained - no small feat in regional NSW. What struck me most was the park's generous proportions; there's ample room for birthday parties without feeling cramped. The mountain air alone makes the stop worthwhile, though Optus users will appreciate the reliable reception. It's the sort of unpretentious community space that reminds you why country towns still get the basics right.
